Earl Shearer, 69, Onawa, Iowa died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

Earl was born November 20, 1935 at Little Sioux, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Beulah (Adams) Shearer: He was raised and attended school in the Little Sioux and Blencoe areas. He married Joyce Archer May 18, 1956 at Onawa. To this union, two children were born, Terry and Tammy.

Earl was a farmer for many years and also worked for Phipps Family Farms 13 years before his employment at Westendorf Mfg. in Onawa.

He was baptized in the Christian Faith. His great love was his family especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Onawa; a son and his wife, Terry and Jody of Omaha, NE; a daughter and: her husband, Tammy and Paul LeClair of Onawa; a granddaughter and her husband, Mandy and Antonio Flores of Omaha; three grandsons, David and his wife Dawn of Blair, NE, Jacob LeClair and Richie LeClair of Onawa; two great grandchildren, Sorava and Antonio Flores of Sioux City, IA; two brothers and their wives, Willie and Pat Shearer of Kearney, NE and Gary and Joanne Shearer of Pisgah, IA and numerous nieces and nephews who were very close to him.

He was, preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Beulah; his parents-in-law, Murl and Violet Archer and two brothers-in-law, Earl Thompson and Edwin Brown.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at First Christian Church, Onawa with Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Music selections were "Wind Beneath My Wings", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Ships Of Heaven" and "If Heaven". Burial was at Onawa Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5:00 — 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.

Casket bearers were David Shearer, Richard LeClair, David LeClair, Antonio Floren, Floyd Redwing, and Ed Collison. Honorary bearers were Bill, Gary, Dale and Kenny Shearer
