Harry E. Pounds, 58, Onawa, Iowa died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his residence.

Harry Earl Pounds was born October 7, 1948 at Whittier, California, the son of William W. and Lorna (Mann) Pounds. He was raised in California and graduated from La Habra High School, La Habra, California.

After graduation, Harry went on to Denver Community College and received his associates degree. Harry lived in La Habra, California, Ft. Collins and Longmont, Colorado areas. In 1986, Harry moved to Onawa and worked several years as a customer service representative for various businesses including MCI and Gateway. Harry also worked as a security officer for Casino Omaha.

Survivors include a brother, Lester Pounds of Onawa; a sister, Donna Pounds of Onawa; a nephew and niece Tyson and Shawntel Pounds; and a great niece and nephew, Haley and Tyler Pounds.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service was 1:30 P.M. Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Community of Christ Church at Pisgah, Iowa with Evangelist John Lizer officiating. Music selections were "Rocket Man" and "The Time of Your Life".

Burial was in Spring Valley cemetery at Moorhead, Iowa. Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Honorary bearers were Tyson Pounds, Bobby Hogancamp, Tommy, Scott and Kary Clark, Jamie Winther, Larry Glasser and Sonny Mann.
