MOORHEAD, Iowa | Craig McAllister, 60, of Moorhead died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at his home in Moorhead.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Moorhead. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine, Iowa.

Craig Eugene "Mac" McAllister was born July 25, 1953, to William and Eunice (Thorson) McAllister in Sioux City. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1971. While in high school, he participated in football and wrestling. Mac attended Augustana College and received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1975.

He taught math at East Monona High School from 1975 to 1998, and from 1998 to 2012, he taught math at Boyer Valley High School. While at East Monona he also taught drivers education, computer classes and coached football, girls basketball and girls track. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes.

He is survived by his daughter, Whitney McAllister and special friend, Philip Chase of Logan, Iowa; four brothers, Steve McAllister and his wife, Shannon of Spencer, Iowa, Jeff McAllister and his wife, Sandy of Cottage Grove, Minn., Tim McAllister and his special friend, Robin of Yankton, S.D., and Dan McAllister and his wife, Lanelle of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and many other relatives and friends.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents
