The funeral of Mr. Allen Clingenpeel, whose death occurred early on Tuesday morning from a complication of diseases, was held from the M. E. church, Thursday forenoon, Rev. W. W. Brown officiating.

The interment took place at Heisler cemetery.

Allen Clingenpeel was born in Preble County, Ohio July 20, 1822.
In 1838 he went to Indiana, where in 1846 he was married to Sarah Curry who still survives him. To them six children were born, five of whom are still living. Three sons; James, John and William and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Moore live in this vicinity. The fourth son, George, lives in Missouri.

The deceased remained on a farm in Indiana until 1874, when he moved to Iowa and located in the Maple Valley. He was engaged in farming until 1888 when he retired from active life and moved to Danbury and later to Mapleton.

Allen Clingenpeel was a member of the Christian church and is spoken of by those who knew him best as a conscientious, upright citizen and a kind neighbor and friend.
