Elva Jeanne Joiner, 94, Onawa, Iowa passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Elmwood Care Centre at Onawa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Rush Family Chapel at Onawa with Pastor Tim Koehn officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Elva Jeanne was born January 9, 1916 at Golconda, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Hedde Lewis.

She and Lindsay Hack Joiner were united in marriage and made their home and raised their three sons in Pinckneyville, Illinois. The couple moved to California where Hack passed away. Jeanne moved from California to Iowa for two years and then returned to Pinckneyville. Later she returned to Onawa and lived with her grandson, John and his family.

Due to failing health, she has been a resident of Elmwood Care Centre at Onawa the past three years.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Bill and Teresa Joiner of Mission Viejo, CA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Hack, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jim Joiner and John R. Joiner and seven brothers and sisters.
