Mrs. Houchins Buried Monday

Funeral Services Are Held In Methodist Church At Ticonic in Afternoon

Funeral service for Mrs. T. J. Houchins,65-year -old Ticonic resident who passed away at her home Saturday, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist Church at Ticonic.

Interment was in Grant Cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral Home of Mapleton. Members of the Rebekah lodge were in charge of services at the grave.

Dora Ellen Hutcheson, daughter of Andrew and Hannah Huteneson, was born near Pacific Junction, Ia. September 4, 1874. She spent most of her life in or near Ticonic. She was married to 'Thomas Jefferson Houchins June 26, 1890.

Mrs. Houchins was a member of the Methodist church and was an untiring worker She was a member of the Rebekah lodge, being a past noble grand, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary) She was the last "Gold Star Mother" of the Onawa unit of the Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Alta Carroll of Onawa, Mrs. Blanche Smothers and Wayne Houchins of Ticonic. She also is survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, her aged father, Andrew Hutcheson, two sisters, Mrs. Lee Guthrie and Mrs. Hattie Guthrie and two brothers, Tom and Will Hutcheson, all of Hopkins, Mo.

Two sons, LeRoy and Raymond preceded their mother in death LeRoy died October 12, 1313, at Camp Dodge, la.,while in the Army during the World war, and Raymond died In infancy.
