Funeral services were held Sunday, October 7 at the Congregational church for Donald Merritt Horner with Rev John Roger officiating. The hymn was sung by Ruth Willman, accompanied at the piano by Miss. L. Woodward. Bearers were Jim Davis, Jan Hewitt, Fred Willman, Larry Heck, Ramon Prichard and Tracy Cleveland. Burial was In the Grant cemetery under the direction -of the Willman funeral home.

Donald Merritt Horner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Horner, was born August 22, 1939 at Mapleton, Iowa and died October 1, 1956 at his home at Smithland at the age of 17 years, 1 month and 12 days.

He attended school one year at Ticonic, Iowa but because of ill health, he was unable to finish his schooling.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, Raymond; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Worrell of Smithland, Ia. a grandmother, Mrs. Delia Horner of Riverside, Calif., and other relatives.
