Hazel Hollister, age 88, of Paullina, Iowa, and formerly of the Mapleton-Ute area died Sunday, March 6, 1994, at Paullina.

Services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina with Rev. Robert Blair officiating. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Grant Township Cemetery, Rodney, Iowa. The organist for the service was Mrs. Kay Grosvenor and the congregation sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Because He Lives".

Hazel Hollister, the daughter of Albert and Carrie Williams Dale, was born August 12, 1905, at Ute, Iowa. She received her education in schools in the Ute and Mapleton areas. On December 19,1933, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Hollister. After their marriage, the couple lived and worked in the Smithland and Mapleton areas. Her husband preceded her in death on September 7, 1966. In the early 1970s she moved to the Paullina area to help in the care of her parents. She had been a resident of the Wide View Rest Home for the last several years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina.

Hazel leaves to cherish her memory several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, Mildred Freeking and one brother, Ted Dale.

Pallbearers were James Towe, Lynn Towe, Jack Mau, Jeffrey Towe and Devada Dirksen.
