Timothy John Hinrickson, 31, and David Allan Hinrickson, 22, both of Rodney, Iowa, died, Sunday, July 5, 1992, of accidental drowning near Rodney.

Timothy was born June 11, 1961, in Iowa City. In 1979, he graduated from Maple Valley High School in Mapleton. On February 16, 1985, he married Shari Parsley in Rodney. He had been a welder and worked in packing houses in Denison and Sioux City. He was currently employed by CHN Garbage Service of Mapleton.

David was born November 28, 1969, in Battle Creek, Iowa. He graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1988 and attended Morningside College. He had worked at Midwest Manufacturing in Ida Grove and was currently employed by Farmland in Denison.

Survivors include: David's daughter, Samantha Jolene Hinrickson of Smithland; their parents, Richard and Anna (Ryan) Hinrickson of Rodney; 1 brother, Mark of Rodney; 3 sisters, Deborah Robbins of Mapleton, Judy and her husband, Gaylen Steinhoff of Smithland , and Susan Hinrickson of Rodney; their grandmother, Mary Ryan of South Sioux City, Nebraska: 3 nieces, Desiree, Emily and Jessica; 2 nephews, Joshua and Michael; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

They were preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Augusta Hinrickson; maternal grandfather, John Ryan; an infant sister, Mary Ann; and an infant niece, Shaela.

Combined services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 1992, at the United Church of Christ, Rodney, with Rev. Karen Dearchs officiating. The organist, Ellen Harbeck, accompanied a duet, Jack Steinhoff and Gerald Beckstrom in the selections "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Bearers for Timothy were Eric Haakinson, James Van Cleave, Jr., Mike Withee, Colin Parsley, Russell Worrell and Pat Wulf.

Bearers for David were Gary Janssen, Jeff Ingram, Danny Smith, Kevin Palmer, Stuart Peterson and James Yockey.

Combined interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, with arrangements by the Willman Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.
