George Walter Harsh, 78, died suddenly at his home in Onawa, Iowa, on July 30, 1984.

He was born August 17, 1905, in Monona County, Iowa. His parents were George and Lydia Anna Wickersham Harsh. He married Sylvia Anderson October 3, 1935, at Dakota City, Nebraska. He worked as a farmer and later operated a road maintainer until his retirement. The couple had lived in Rodney and Ticonic before moving to Onawa about 15 years ago. Mrs. Harsh died August 19, 1978, in Onawa.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Betty) Malloy of Park Forest, Illinois; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, and one sister.

Services were held on Thursday, August 2, 1984, at 10:00 a.m. at the Willman Funeral Chapel at Rodney, Iowa, with Rev. Gary DeGeest officiating.

Pallbearers were Oscar Hanson, Emil Olson, Don Waples, James Cleveland, Robert Erickson, and Gail Blakely.

Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa.
