Robert C. "Bob" Blake, 73, of Mapleton, formerly of Onawa, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at his home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery at Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Bob was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Ruth (Weaver) Blake. He graduated from Pisgah High School and attended one year of college in Wayne, Neb. While living in Onawa, Bob worked for Dunham's Clothing. Upon leaving there, he went to work for Sadie Wilson at the Onawa Cafe, which he soon purchased and operated for many years, selling it to Darl Miller.

Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Ralph "Sonny" and Fran Blake of Joplin, Mo., and Dick and Barb Blake of Mapleton; cousins, John and Dan Weaver; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Nina; and two brothers, Allen Lee and Rex Eugene.
