September 09, 2011MAPLETON, Iowa -- Terri Hamman, 55, of Glenrock, Wyo., formerly of Mapleton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, under hospice care in Casper, Wyo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, with the Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, rural Rodney, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Terri Chandler was born Oct. 9, 1955, in Roswell, N.M., the daughter of James G. and Betty J. (Krusen) Chandler. As an infant, she came to live with her grandparents, Mike and Sophie Krusen in Rodney, Iowa. She grew up there and was educated at Maple Valley School in Mapleton.
On Sept. 29, 1973, she married Rick Hamman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton. They made their home in Mapleton and were blessed with two children, Shannon and Mark. Terri moved to New Mexico and later to Wyoming, where she worked as a detailer for Harley-Davidson.
She enjoyed riding her four-wheeler in the mountains and prairie dog hunting. The focus of her life, however, was centered around the love she had for her children and their well-being.
Cherishing her memory are her daughter and her husband, Shannon and Torey Martin of Manson, Iowa; one son and his wife, Mark and Jody Hamman of Mapleton; eight grandchildren, Jessie Hamman, Autumn Martin, Destinee Martin, Dakota Martin, Dawson Hamman, Laiken Hamman, Krista Sulsberger, and Derrick Sulsberger; one great-grandson, Talon; parents, Jim and Roberta Chandler of Forsyth, Mont.; two sisters, Pat Andersen and her husband, Doug of Glenrock, Wyo., and Ronni Miller; four brothers, Scott Chandler and his wife, Frankye of Sheridan, Wyo., Kelly Chandler and Jody Chandler and his wife, Tara, all of Glenrock, and Mark Harms of Okoboji, Iowa; an aunt, Pat Vellinga of Marshalltown, Iowa; and a special friend, Steve Davis of Glenrock.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Sophie Krusen; and her uncle and aunt, Jack and Jeanette Krusen.
