PHYLLIS L. RUNKLE

UTE, Iowa—Phyllis, L. Runkle, 74, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, formerly of Ute, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Rose Vista Care Center in Woodbine, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Missouri Valley, with the Rev. David Masten officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 7 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hennessey, Van Cleave and Hurley Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.

Mrs. Runkle was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Ute, the daughter of Fred E. and Anna (Kiepe) Mohr.

She married Donald Runkle on Feb. 19, 1950, in Ute. She had lived in Missouri Valley for many years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Runkle, of Jefferson, Iowa; a son, Dayle, of Jefferson; four sisters, Edna John of Ute, Ruth Strait of Battle Creek, Iowa, Marcella Kuehl of Mapleton, Iowa, and Barbara Timms of Ute; and a brother, Fred Mohr, of Ute.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
