Smithland, Iowa—Mrs. William (Nellie) Kirkpatrick, 85, of Mapleton, formerly of Smithland, died Saturday in a nursing home at Mapleton after a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Smithland. The Rev. Dale Church will officiate. Burial will be in the West Fork Township Cemetery at Climbing Hill under the direction of the Willman Funeral Home of Rodney.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick, the former Nellie B. Sierk, was born July 3, 1897, at Jackson, Nebr.

She married William Kirkpatrick, September 12, 1917, at Sioux City. They farmed near Climbing Hill until 1944 when they retired and moved to Smithland. He died July 8, 1966.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Cemetery Society, all of Smithland.

Survivors include one son, Floyd of Petaluma, California; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Genevieve) Pierce of Oto; one sister, Lillian Perazzo of Sioux City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
