Soldier, Iowa—Newell C. Lund, 69, of Soldier, died Thursday at a hospital in Onawa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Soldier Lutheran Church. The Rev. William W. Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Jordan Township Cemetery near Soldier, with the Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier in charge.

Mr. Lund was born October 13, 1908 at Moorhead. He married Eldora Jackson in 1936. She died in 1942.

He married Fauneal Kendall Jan. 16, 1944 at Soldier.

He was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church. He had retired from farming and had been a part-time employee of Soldier Co-op.

Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Homer (Orma) DeWitt of Sioux City, Mrs. Richard (Marcella) Hart of Berwyn, Illinois, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Lesenyle of Onawa and Mrs. Michael (Connie) Casavant of Lolo, Mont; one son, Brady of Pisgah; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Elliott of Moville, Harlow of Council Bluffs.
