Mapleton, Iowa—Anthony William “Tony” Jacoby, 67, of Mapleton died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mr. Jacoby was born Feb. 24, 1932 in rural Mapleton, the son of Henry and Catherine (Flammang) Jacoby. He grew up and was educated in the Mapleton area.

He worked as a laborer for various area farmers.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Survivors include five sisters, Beatrice McCall of Soldier, Iowa, Isabele Steel of Ida Grove, Iowa, Kathleen James and Mary Warner, both of Sioux City, and Teresa Dimiig and her husband Robert, of Danbury, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers; John, Pete, Silvan and Benedict.
