Kathryn Blanche Walters, daughter of John and Mary Potts, was born in Galt, Illinois on March 1, 1884 and passed from this life in a Sioux City hospital on December 15, 1971. She had reached the age of 87 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Mrs. Walters spent her early life in Monona County near Turin, Iowa. On November 2, 1903 she was united in marriage to Will Walters. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1966.

She and her husband lived on a farm near Turin until they moved to Little Sioux, Iowa where Mr. Walters was engaged in farming until his retirement.

Mrs. Walters was a member of the Little Sioux United Methodist Church and the little Sioux Chapter of the order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell and Carroll Walters of Little Sioux; one daughter, Mrs. Jay (Wilma) Johnson of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren, Kathryn and Bill Johnson and three sister’s, Mrs. Zella Cummings and Ferne Davis of Little Sioux and Mrs. Walter Jarman of Denver, Colo.

The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 17 at the United Methodist Church in Little Sioux, with Rev. Richard Sebeniecher officiating. Mrs. Ted McCracken and Ernest Caldwell sang “Beautiful Savior”, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Johnson. The casket bearers were Jack Vipond, Everett Bean, Everett Petty, Harold Pippitt, Douglas Collison and Richard Collison. Interment was in the cemetery at Little Sioux with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
