Florence Teske, 95, of Whiting, Iowa formerly of Turin, Iowa died Saturday, December 18, 1999, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Florence was born December 9, 1904, at Peterson, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mathilda (Gabrielson) Malm. On June 15, 1922, she married Bror Fred Nelson in Sioux City, Iowa. She was an elevator operator at the Woodbury County Court House in Sioux City. Mr. Nelson died July 5, 1928, in Sioux City. She also worked as a nurses aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City. She married Henry A. Teske on June 14, 1931, in Salem, South Dakota. The couple moved to Evergreen, Colorado, in 1954 where she worked as a housemother at the Forrest Heights Lodge in Evergreen until retiring in 1974. The couple moved to Turin, Iowa, in 1975. Mr. Teske died April 19, 1977, in Onawa.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Turin where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts and loved doing crafts.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Bud and Ethel Jane Nelson of Turin; an adopted daughter, Faye Helen Walters of Colorado; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
