Mrs. Iva May Tiffany

Mrs. Iva May Tiffany, a resident of Onawa the past three years, died at the Elmwood Home in Onawa on Wednesday, March 3. She had reached the age of 82 years, six months and eight days. Death came after a long illness.

Mrs. Tiffany was a daughter of Gotlieb and Mary Messing and lived in this community until 1933.

February 18, 1933 she was united in marriage to Adelbert Tiffany at Elk Point, S.D. Mr. Tiffany died February 6, 1945. In 1962 she returned to Onawa where she was cared for by her only sister, Mrs. Edith Benjamin.

Other survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tiffany was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. The rosary was held at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday evening and the funeral mass at 9 a.m. Friday, March 5 at St. John’s Church in Onawa. Father George Benjamin and Father Thomas K. Molloy officiated at the service.

Casket bearers were Maurice, Paul, Thomas, Herbert and Dan Benjamin, and Royce Beck Jr. Interment was in Graceland Park cemetery at Sioux City with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
