ONAWA, Iowa -- May E. Jepson, 93, of Coon Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Don Collison officiating. Burial will be in Ingerman Cemetery at Moorhead, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

May was born June 5, 1913, at Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Bern and Ruth (Hook) Cutler. She was raised and educated at Whiting until 1929, when the family moved to Huron, S.D. May graduated from Huron High School in 1931.

She married Howard Jepson on Nov. 21, 1942, at South Sioux City. The couple moved to the parsonage home at the corner of Ingerman Cemetery in Moorhead, where they were blessed with four children. Howard was a lifelong farmer, and he and his brothers operated the Jepson homestead. The couple moved to Whiting after Howard's retirement. He died April 30, 1982, at Sioux City.

May moved to Center Heights in Onawa, where she was a resident for more than 20 years. In the spring of 2006, she moved to Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home in Cook Rapids to be closer to her family. She was a member of Whiting Christian Church. May enjoyed needlework, especially cross stitch, but her greatest joy in life was her family.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Jeanine and Don Thompson of Aledo, Ill., and Virginia and Doug Patten of Huntington, W.Va.; two sons and their wives, Bruce and Marilyn Jepson of Glidden, Iowa, and Sam and Cathy Jepson of Salida, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Eileen Cutler of St. Louis, Mo., Dorothy Jepson of Onawa, and Helen Hunt of Rapid City, S.D.; several nieces and nephews; and May's dear friend, Ruth Johnson on Onawa.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a great-grandson, Richie; her parents; her parents-in-law; two brothers, LeRoy and his wife, Mildred, and Leo Cutler; and several brothers and sisters-in-law of her husband.
