Lloyd I. Fiscus, 75, Whiting, Iowa, died Saturday, September 23, 2000 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting.

Lloyd was born November 26, 1927, in Whiting, Iowa the son if Ivan and Lola (Bennett) Fiscus. He was raised in Whiting and attended school in Whiting and Onawa before entering the U.S. Navy in June 1944. He served during WWII and was discharged in 1946.

He was married to Lorraine M Hunter January 25, 1947 in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Whiting where Lloyd was a lifelong farmer. He worked on the Missouri River as a pile driver operator with Kiewit and Cunningham Construction and owned and operated Lloyd's 66 Station, Whiting for 36 years.

He was a 35-year member of Weston Lodge #562 AF & AM and 55 year member of American Legion Emery Johnson Post #481.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine of Whiting; three daughters, Carolyn and Brenda Fiscus of Whiting and Mary Fiscus of Omaha, Ne; a son, Jeff and his wife, Carla of Whiting; four adopted children, Jessline Anderson, Larry Probert and Lisa Bird of Whiting and Sue Malone of Omaha; six grandchildren, Tiara, Kaj, Beau, November, Dana and Marque; and a sister, Evelyn Sullivan of Omaha, Ne. and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher; and a sister, Ruth Lynn.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at Rush Family Chapel, Onawa with Weston Lodge #562 AF & AM officiating, Steven Jewett, Orator, Kay MacClure provided organ selections of Patriotic songs and "Amaxing Grace". Burial was in Harrison Cemetery, rural Whiting with Military Rites by American Legion Emery Johnson Post #481, John Scott, Commander. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Tom Hall, Steve Richardson, Keith Morton, Charles Wickersham, Larry Probert and Larry Clark.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.
