MAPLETON, Iowa -- Frances Brummer, 91, of Mapleton died Monday, April 27, 2009, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, with Monsignor Mark Duchaine officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Visitation will resume 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Frances Marie Brummer was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Sidney, Neb., the daughter of Carl and Rose (Petsche) Moser.

She married Robert Brummer on Jan. 9, 1941, in Bloomfield, Neb. The couple later moved to Danbury, Iowa, where they lived for three years. In 1952, they moved to Mapleton, where they farmed until 1980, when they moved into Mapleton. Bob died April 28, 1996.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Thursday Club.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Mauvis Money, Karen Brummer and Ruth Wasmund, all of Omaha and Barbara and her husband, Brent Petersen of Blair, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Ellen Weber of Danbury; four brothers and their wives, Gene and Mary Moser and Don and Katie Moser, all of Danbury, Dennis and Betty Moser of Marcus, Iowa, and Loren and Bev Moser of LaMesa, Calif.; and numerous other relatives, neighbors and good friends.

Along with her husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marlin; a daughter, Mary Jean; a granddaughter, Michele; and two sisters.
