Helen Margaret (Hamman) Daly, age 86, passed on to the Lord at her home in Mapleton on March 31, 2005.

Helen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born January 10, 1919 in a farm house near Mapleton to Henry and Ida (Uhl) Hamman Sr, one of eight children. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Mapleton. She married Donald W. Daly in 1940 and they farmed in the Mapleton area for 52 years.

She is survived by her husband and three children. Her family was the love of her life. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert L. Daly. Helen is survived by her daughter, Carole Daly Julian and son-in-law Robert E. Julian of Omaha, NE, son Donald L. Daly Sr. and daughter-in-law Claudette of Lee's Summit, MO, son Ronald F. Daly and daughter-in-law Becki of Cedar Rapids, IA, daughter-in-law Lois Daly of Bonner Springs, KS, nine grandchildren, Anita Daly Stock (husband Michael Stock), Brenda Daly, Carla Daly, Elizabeth Julian Shults (husband Rob Shults), Brian Julian, Donald Daly, Jr. (wife Lezli), Patrick Daly (wife Susan), Ryan Daly, and Rachel Daly; and 7 great grandchildren, Jeremy, Cody, Ashley, Grace, Robert, Ethan and Nickoles.

Other survivors include sisters Laura Ortner, Mary Ann Ortner, brother-in-law Arnold Ortner, sisters-in law Anna Marie Hamman and Shirley Hamman, many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Flowers and memorials to the Church. Memorial Service and Mass will be held Saturday April 9, 2005 11:00 a.m., St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mapleton, IA. Visitation will be at the Church at 10:00 a.m.
