26 November 2008ONAWA, Iowa -- Milton Ray Harvey, 62, of Onawa died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at his residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with Kathy Jo Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Hite Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Milton Ray was born July 1, 1946, in Smithland, Iowa, the son of James Leroy and Lola Mae (Morgan) Harvey. He was raised in the Holly Springs/Smithland area. He attended Westwood Community School in Sloan, Iowa. He joined the U.S. Navy on Aug. 7, 1967, and was discharged on May 10, 1971.
He and Karen Stanley were united in marriage in April 1967. He later married Linda Taylor on Oct. 10, 1974.
He was a truck driver for various trucking companies including Harding Trucking in Whiting, Iowa. On Feb. 8, 2008, he retired from Tyson Fresh Meats after 12 years of service.
Survivors include his fiancee, Lorrie Dawdy of Onawa; his children, April Stewart of Yuma, Ariz., Carrie Pauley of Des Moines, Melissa Williams of Sioux City, Corky Harvey of Marana, Ariz., Nicholas Harvey of Luverne, Minn., Jason Dawdy of Onawa, Amanda Stewart of Onawa and Matthew Dawdy of Onawa; nine grandchildren; and his siblings, Gaylord Harvey of Sheldon, Iowa, Loyal Harvey of Whiting, Chrystal Gulick of Whiting and DuWayne Harvey of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cheryl Harvey.
