BLENCOE, Iowa -- Betty Stanislav, 76, of Blencoe died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Steven Hetzel officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Betty was born Aug. 4, 1931, in Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Myrtle (McCall) Holverson. She was raised in the Soldier area and graduated from Soldier High School.
She and Leo Stanislav were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 1957, in Yankton, S.D. The couple farmed in the rural Blencoe area, where they raised their three sons.

She was member of Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa. She was her husband's dance and travel partner as well as his helpmate for nearly 51 years. She expected her sons to do their very best at what ever they under took and shared in their successes and their setbacks. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up and was always interested in what was happening in their lives. Given more time, she would have loved her new role as a great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Leo of Blencoe; three sons and their wives, Randy and Jane of Hillsborough, N.J., Danny and Lisa of Blencoe and Todd and Karen of Big Rapids, Mich.; six grandchildren, Ben, Kendall (Ashley), Matthew (Jamie), Emily, Madeline and Ellie; a great-granddaughter, Madyson; a sister, Helen Heck of Soldier; and two sisters-in-law, Barb Holverson-Blaine of Soldier and Edna Holverson of Moorhead, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Glen and LaVerne Holverson; and two sisters, Irene Hadden and Charlotte Samson.
