ONAWA, Iowa -- Cpl. Llythaniele Fender, 21, formerly of Onawa died Sunday, June 10, 2007, from wounds suffered in Iraq.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at West Monona High School Auditorium in Onawa. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
Cpl. Fender was born at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming on May 15, 1986, the son of Tom and Ellen (Davis) Fender. He attended school in Onawa and Julesburg, Colo. He returned to Onawa, where he graduated with the class of 2004. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 2004. He had served in Korea for one years and had been in Iraq since February 2007.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Ellen Fender of Medical Lake, Wash.; his sister, Lance Cpl. Llythellen Fender, USMC, stationed in Fort Lee, Va.; his grandparents, Sylvia Davis and Bert and Shirley Fender of Onawa; two uncles and their families, Bill and Lori Davis and their children, Amanda, Tabitha and Logan of Ida Grove, Iowa, Loren and Sarah Fender and their children, Heath, Kayla, Lucinda and daughter, Kiera, Lexi and Mont of Onawa.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Davis.
