ONAWA, Iowa -- Anna E. Collison, 88, of Onawa died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Blencoe United Church of Christ in Blencoe, Iowa, with the Rev. John Noer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Anna was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Homer and Anna (Hathaway) Wood. She graduated from Mondamin (Iowa) High School in 1928.

She was united in marriage to Bert Collison on Dec. 15, 1930, in Blair, Neb. The couple farmed in the Blencoe area. She worked at in various departments at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa. Mr. Collison died Aug. 14, 1973, in Onawa.

She was baptized July 3, 1960, at Blencoe United Church of Christ and also was a member of its Ladies Aid. She was a member of Blencoe Bridge Club, Eagles Auxiliary and Pitch Club. Her family was the most important part of her life.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Douglas and Loretta of Onawa, Gary and Loris of Blencoe, Richard and Lucille of Onawa, and Bert and Connie of Weaver, Ala.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Virginia and her husband, Emmett Dofner, and Bonnie Petry, all of Council Bluffs; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Wood of Council Bluffs; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis; two grandchildren, Donald and Mary Collison; two sisters; and five brothers.
