ONAWA, Iowa -- Wilbur Nielsen, 93, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at a Omaha hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Care Chapel in Onawa, with the Rev. Steven Hetzel officiating. There will be a Masonic service conducted by Vesper Lodge 223 A.F. & A.M. of Onawa.

Wilbur was born Oct. 25, 1908, in Blencoe, Iowa, the son of Carl and Anna Martine (Jensen) Nielsen. He owned Wilbur Nielsen Construction Co. for many years. After leaving the construction business, he was a pilot for Simpson Aircraft Sales in Omaha.

He was a member of Vesper Lodge 223 A.F. & A.M., Sioux City Abu Bekr Shrine, Sioux City White Horse Mounted Patrol, Omaha Tangier Shrine, Omaha York Scottish Rite and Royal Order of Jesters at Omaha. He was a former member of Royal Order of Jesters at Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Council Bluffs; two sons and their wives, Bill and Jodie and Eric and Subrenia; two daughters and their husbands, Anna Marine and Chris Wohlert and Elizabeth and Patrick McClure; three stepsons, Richard, Michael and Mark Andersen; a stepdaughter, Barbara McCullough; 16 grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Copper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
