Dr. Robert Liska

Dr. Robert W. Liska, age 74 of Lyons, Kansas, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus, Wichita, Kansas.

Services were held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lyons, Kansas with Rev. John Sharp and Rev Richard Andrus officiating. Burial was in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. Visitation was from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 at Sillin Funeral Home in Lyons, Kansas.

Dr. Liska was born September 15, 1929 to Dr. Edward and Erma (Hildeman) Liska in Ute, Iowa. He served his country with two years in the United States Army as First Lieutenant during the Korean War and four years in the Army National Guard. He married Darlene TenEyck April 29, 1950 in Lexington, Missouri. He graduated from Wentworth Military Academy, Lexington, Missouri; University of Iowa in 1952; University of Nebraska School of Dentistry in 1958. He was a longtime Lyons resident, where he was a dentist retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lyons, Duck Unlimited and National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Lyons; two sons, Dr. David Liska of Lyons and Dennis Liska of Moreland, Oklahoma; three daughters, Teri Newman of Greeley, Colorado, Linda D’Ambrosia of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Julie Schroeder of Jetmore, Kansas; a brother, Edward Liska of Ute, Iowa; two sisters, Nancy Alberhaskey of Kansas City, Missouri and Mary Lou Anderson of Barrington, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
