Mrs. Henry Reideman

Mrs. Henry Reideman had lived in this country for fifty years. She was born in Germany. Louise Messing on June 25th, 1850. She died March 15, 1920 at her home in Onawa, aged seventy years. She had been in poor health for over a year and confined to her bed about five months.

Her father came to Kentucky. Her mother died when she was four years old and before long she was caretaker for the family of younger children. In 1866 she was married to Henry Riedeman at Portsmount, Ohio. She was left a widow in 1915. Nine children were born to them. W.H. Riedeman, of Bain, Wyoming; Hattie Hegwood, San Francisco; C.B. Riedeman, Harlington, Mont.; Mrs. J.H. Wilson, Sioux City, Miss Sophia Riedeman, Los Angeles, and G.C. Riedeman, Los Angeles, and G.C. Riedeman of Onawa, Gress, George and Alive having died.

Two sisters, three brothers and eleven grandchildren survive her. The home for many years was on the farm in Lake Township. She has lived in Onawa the last few years with her son and his four daughters.

Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon, March 17, conducted by her pastor, Rev J.C. Treat of the Congregational church. Miss Maennel sang, “The City Four-Square.” She was buried in the Lake Cemetery near the old home near Whiting
