Mrs Gladys L Christianson

Mrs Gladys L Christianson, a former Monona County resident, passed from this life at a hospital in Seattle, Washington on Friday, December 23. Death came unexpectedly as the result of an apparent heart attack.

Mrs Christianson was a daughter of John and Dora Schlensig and was born April 11, 1901 at Dunlap. She had reached the age of 65 years.

She was united in marriage to Lloyd Christianson on January 6, 1932 at Onawa. She grew up in the Dunlap and Soldier communities and later lived in the Onawa community until about 1945. When she and Lloyd lived at Missouri Valley for aboutfive years and then lived at Minden for 13 years. They had been at the home of a nephew in Seattle, Wash. for the past six months.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd: two brothers, Marty Schlensig at Dunlap and Harry Schlensig of Soldier: an Aunt Mrs Nellie Brace of Electric City, Wash. and an Uncle Adolph Bolte at Harlan, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mrs Fred Riddle.

Gladys loved the outdoors and gardening and especially enjoyed working with flowers and plants, and seeing mature unfoldtheir loveliness.

Funeral services were held at 2P.M. Tuesday, December 27. Pastor Harry C Sorensen officiating. Mrs Charles Dommer Jr sang "In The Garden" and "No Night There" with Mrs Harry Andersen as organist.

Bearers were Herbert Gibbs, Chris Steen, Oscar Foss, Basil Gibbs, William Lee and Clarence Mathiasen.

Interment was in St Clair Cemetery at Ute with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier.
