Former Onawa Resident Died May 8 at Sioux City

Monday morning’s Sioux City Jouranl carried the death notice of a former Onawa resident, Charles A. Robinson. Mr. Robinson came to Onawa in an early day with hisa parents the late, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Robinson. His father being a furniture dealer here for many years.

Charles was the oldest of three sons. He in his young manhood days was a well known athlete or acobat, high jump- and tumbler. However this sport that he took part in was for pleasure. Mr. Robinson and the editor of the Democrat were very close friends back in those days and along with Himan Levich gave many amateur performances in Onawa, Decatur and other nearby towns.

Mr. Robinson was born June 3, 1878 in Toronto, Ona., Canada. He went with his parents from there to Nevada and later the family moved to Onawa.

He was a member of the Westlawn Presbyterian church.

Survivors are the widow, the former Jessie Howard, Of Onawa: three sons, Ralph of Burbank, California: Howard of San Antonio, Texas and Marvin of Sioux City: A daughter, Mrs Midor A. Thibodeaux of Sioux City, a brother, James M. of Omaha: a sister Mrs. Harry E Burton of Washington, D.C. and six grand children.
