Knudsen, Alice V. ( Misfeldt ) ~ 1985

Alice V. Knudsen, Moorhead, Iowa, died on Monday, September 2, 1985, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, after a brief illness. Death came at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 20 days.

She was born on February 13, 1913, in Monona County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Tena Daugaard Misfeldt. She graduated from Castana High School and was a lifelong resident of the Moorhead area. On April 9, 1933, she married Elvin T. Rude in Onawa. Mr. Rude died April 28, 1957, at Moorhead. She had been employed at the Moorhead Café and had served two sessions as recording clerk for State Representative Elroy Maule in Des Moines. On January 5, 1962, she was married to Versel Knudsen in South Sioux City, Neb. Survivors include her husband, Versel of Moorhead, a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Colleen) Shol of Moorhead, a son, Marvin Rude of Morris, Ill., three sisters, Mrs. Merle Potts of Sioux City, Mrs. Tiny (Mable) Blackman of Mapleton and Mrs. William (Doris) Hubbard of Logo Vista, Texas, and seven granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elvin Rude in 1957, a son Richard in 1983, a brother, Earnest Misfeldt and an infant granddaughter.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 1985, at Bethesda Lutheran Church at Moorhead with Rev. Paul Birkedal officiating. The organist, Mrs. Daryle Lauritsen, accompanied the congregation in singing, “How Great Thou Art” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”.

Bearers were Dwight Lamb, James McIntyre, Kenneth Mohn, Leland Lantz, Roger Delance, and Wilber Mann.

Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead with arrangement by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
