Pretty Home Wedding Took Place at Grant Center Sunday
A pretty home wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Persinger of Grant Center, Iowa, when Miss Irma Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Morgan of Castana was united in marriage to Donald Smothers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smothers of Grant Center at high noon on Easter Sunday April 9, 1939.
Rev. G.A. Tylar of Sioux City, Iowa, a former minister of Ticonic, Iowa officiated at a single ring ceremony.
The bride was dressed in blue crepe dress trimmed in blue satin wearing a corsage of sweet peas. The groom was dressed in a full grey attire.
The bride’s attendant was Miss Margaret Linden of Odebolt, Iowa, a niece of the groom and Glen Morgan, brother of the bride served as best man.
Easter lilies were used in the color scheme in decorating the archway of yellow and white.
After the ceremony a two course dinner was served to 24 quests. The tables were decorated in the bride’s color of yellow and white.
The quest included Rev. and Mrs. G.A. Tylar of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Morgan and sons, Glen Loren and Harlan of Castana; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smithers, of Grant Center; Mrs. Harold Jones and baby of Onawa; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Smothers and Eleanor of Kennebec; Mr. and Mrs. Thure Lindent and daughter Margaret and son Earl of Odebolt.
The young people will make their home at Grant Center for the present.
