Guy A. Anderson was born August 28, 1905, near Albaton, IA, the only child of John A. Anderson and Myrtle Polly Anderson. He attended country schools near his home, high school in Sloan, and the University of Iowa. Gay served in World War II in the Army Air Force at Madison, Wisconsin, Truax Field. It was there he met and married Lois Bethke Anderson.
Lois and Gay returned home to the home farm near Albaton where they farmed for nearly 35 years. This farm was farmed for nearly 80 years by Gay and his Father. Lois and Guy had three children; Janet, Gordon and a daughter who died at birth. Janet married Roy Yeager of Whiting, IA, and they had three daughters, Laura, Nyla and Lisa.
