The Allen Anderson Family, p 91

Allen Adolph Anderson, the son of Frans E. Anderson and Mabel M. Allen, was born December 25, 1913 on the family farm 6 miles west of Castana. He was the youngest child of six, having four brothers and one sister. Allen met and married Emma Castle.

Emma Dortha Castle, the daughter of Louis J. Castle and Hazel M. Fuller, was born October 4, 1921 south of Hornick, Iowa. She was the fifth child of eight, having three brothers and four sisters, of which one brother and three sisters died in infancy. Emma and Allen were married October 11, 1941 at Dakota City, Nebraska.

Allen and Emma had four children. They were Shirley M., born in 1942 at Onawa; Patricia L., born in 1944 in Sioux City; Bonnie J., born in 1948 in Sioux City; and Roger A., born in 1952 in Sioux City.

At present, they are living in Sioux City. Allen retired from the Sioux City Community School District and is a member of the Tri-State Channel Burners citizen band radio club. And also a member of the Siouxland Senior Center. Allen enjoys gardening and yard work. Emma is currently employed by the Sioux City Community School District. She, like Allen, enjoys gardening and also has a large assortment of houseplants which she enjoys caring for. They have nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Submitted by: Michael A. Snyder.
