George and Christina Amerine page 87

George Amerine was born March 14, 1822 in Hessa Kassel, Germany, emigrated to America in 1832.
Christiana A. Yelm Amerine was born September 22, 1828 in Sweden, emigrated to America in 1845.

Four children were born to them, Mary Ann Amerine (Messing) born August 31, 1851in Rock Island, Illinois; Sarah Elizabeth (Shaffer) Amerine was born February 13, 1854 in Rock Island, Illinois; William Anderson Amerine was born October 17, 1856, in Rock Island County, Illinois; George A. Amerine was born February 14, 1866 in Beaury County, Illinois.

George Amerine died around 1869 in Illinois.

Then Christina Yelm Amerine married John P. Nelson in Illinois.

The family then moved to Onawa, Iowa.

Christina died July 15, 1892, in Onawa.

The family name was originally Clark but was changed to Amerine when they came from Germany. Submitted by: Mary M. Benjamin.
