Casper and Anne were married in the country Lutheran Church at Soldier by Pastor C.H. Hjartholm.
Casper was a bachelor farmer before he married. He had bought the farm from his uncle, Hans Severson, who later went back to Norway. The farm was the old John Helm farm south of Soldier. It was to this farm he brought his new wife. They were farmers at heart all of their lives. They lived on this farm until 1903 or 1904 when they purchased a farm north of Soldier, where they spent the biggest part of their lives.
In 1944 they bought a house in Soldier and moved there the latter part of January, 1945. Casper had suffered a stroke Thanksgiving Day, 1944 and never regained his health. He did not get to enjoy his new home in town and passed away February 17, 1945 at the age of 72 years.
His wife, Anne, was born at Soldier May 6, 1872 to Sever Severson and Martha Clemon Severson. She worked in Sioux City before her marriage. She lived to the good old age of 89 years and passed away December 13, 1966.Casper and Anne were always faithful to their church and community. They were always there to do their share for the betterment of everyone.
They had 5 children: Alice M. Amundson Dommer, Myrtle C. Amundson, Arnold S. Amundson (who married Gladys M. Gantz), Helen E. Amundson Levy, and Edith Hazel Amundson (who died in infancy); 3 grandsons: Charles B. Dommer, Jr., Arlen C. Amundson (who died from polio), and Dennis W. Amundson.Casper was born August 12, 1872 to Arnt and Andrine Amunson. He had 3 sisters: Tillie Amunson Longlee, Amelia Amunson Ulven, Anne Amunson Hanson; and 1 brother: Olaf Amunson. His wife, Anne, had 1 sister, Lillie Severson Berg, 3 brothers and 1 sister who died in infancy or an early age.
