Albert Charles Adams was born January 7, 1887 in Butternuts County, New York.
His uncle, Henry Lewis, came first to Mondamin, Harrison County, Iowa. He then persuaded his two half brothers, Lee Swain Adams (Albert’s father) and Charles Adams into bringing their families to Iowa.
His mother was Ada Louise Deming Adams. His brothers were John Adams, a Mondamin barber and Henry Adams, later a Mora, Minnesota resident. He also had three sisters Evalyn Frances (Jan. 19, 1880-April 26, 1976) (Mrs. William Allen Taylor), Elsie May (April 29, 1993-March 29, 1970) (Mrs. Delbert Remington) and Nellie, a Minnesota resident.
Albert married Margaret Lovernia Stansberry December 20, 1905 in Harrison County, Iowa. Margaret (Maggie) was born June 15, 1890 in Harrison County to Nathan Stansberry, born February 22, 1854 in West Virginia and Nancy Belle McMasters born Jan. 15, 1864 in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Maggie’s family consisted of sisters, Mary Almedia Maye, born Sept. 3, 1887, died July 13, 1945. She married Wayne Griffis May 21, 1905 and had six children, Nellie Belle Irena born Nov. 10, 1892, died March 26, 1960. She married to Joe Hammon March 18, 1910. Sarah Luessa, born Feb. 7, 1895 living in San Francisco, Calif, married Loyd Parks Feb. 2, 1915, had three children. She later married Harold Goulding. Carrie Rachel Syble, born Jan. 31, 1900 died April 17, 1928. She married Carlton Fitzimmon on April 27, 1916. Clara Schrilda born Feb. 23, 1905 died Feb. 9, 1906. Brothers James Luther born Aug. 7, 1883, died Sept. 7, 1947, Justin Charles Francis born Dec. 9, 1884 died May 10, 1956, married Sula Roberts, lived in South Sioux City, Nebr. They were the parents of thirteen children, Floyd Malcom Delano born June 10, 1897 died March 3, 1966 and Carson Paul born Oct. 22, 1902 died March 22, 1977, married Lura McShane Oct. 2, 1926 had five children.
Albert and Maggie grew up in the same area, and after their marriage in 1905 they worked on various farms. In 1922 they moved to the town of Blencoe where Albert was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for thirty-five years.
They were the parents of five children: Evalyn Luessa (see Carl and Evalyn Heineman story). Franklin Lee Nathan, employed by the railroad and now employed by Blencoe Elevator, lives in Blencoe. Viola Lovernia married Irvin Meeker, parents of six children, works for Burgess Memorial Hospital and lives in Onawa, Iowa. Charles Edward married Margaret Reagles. They have one son and live in Manteca, California, and Albert Francis (Albert Francis Adams story).
Albert and Maggie resided in Blencoe until their deaths. Albert Dec. 13, 1977 and Maggie Nov. 27, 1953. They are buried in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa.
