W. E. Roberts, agent for the C. & N. W. R. R., is a native of England; came to
America when quite young, with parents, and settled in Wis.; moved to Tama
county, Ia., in 1863. He afterwards moved to Battle Creek, as agent for the
railroad company; thence to Mapleton in Nov., 1880.
