ROBERT W. VAN NICE, D.V.M.

(Died Feb 1978 at age 61)

Dr. Robert Warren Van Nice was born May 9, 1916 to Glenn and Della Van Nice, Vinton, Iowa where he was raised on a farm. He attended Vinton Community Schools and graduated from Vinton High in 1933. He also attended Iowa State College in Ames, Ia.

May 4, 1940 he married Mabel Frances Gray and they moved to Anthony, Texas where he worked as foreman on a dairy farm for three years. He then attended Texas A&M where he graduated from the Veteranary School of Medicine in 1946. He began practice in Tama, Iowa and in 1948 he and his wife moved to St. Ansgar, Iowa where he practiced Veterinary medicine until the time of his death.

Dr. Van Nice was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar and served as President of the school board for a number of years. He enjoyed growing roses and traveling.

Dr. Van Nice is survived by his wife, Mabel, two children, Dennis, Iowa City, Iowa, and Rachel Ricketts of Jesup, Iowa, and three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
