Died Jan. 7, 1914Mrs Joanna Isaacson was born in Sweden, March 24, 1851, and there she was baptized and confirmed. Her parents were Nels and Hanna Palm.
She emigrated to this country in 1872 and lived with relatives in the Rock Creek settlement. She was united in marriage to R. Isaacson, and to this union nine children were born, of which six survive her: Mrs. Rachel Johnson of Maddock, North Dakota; Nels, of Leon, Kansas; Mrs. Elizabeth Finsand, Rolf and Elmer, at home and Clarence who lives near by.Three stepchildren, two brothers, a sister and eight grandchildren also survive her.
Mr. Isaacson passed away three years ago, since which time the widow and her children had been conducting the farm that had been her home since her marriage.
Death came to her January 7, 1914.
The funeral services, held January 19 in the Rock Creek Lutheran church, of which she was a member for so many years were conducted in both Norwegian and English languages. All her children with the exception of Nels were present.

Note: The newspaper perhaps erroneoously spelled the surname as Isaacson instead of Isaacs. Or possibly the name was Isaacson in the Norwegian patronymic system, and later changed/Americanized to Isaacs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTES:
Johanna's married name was ISAACS
Johanna Palm Isaacs was the wife of Robert Isaacs, 1829-1910. They are both buried in the Rock Creek, Meroa Cemetery.
I haven't found a death date for Elmer born 1895 yet. He was still alive in 1950 but can't find the obit on him. He married Cora Hargan (Osage Cemetery).
Elmer's son, Garland was the father of four of the five kids who were killed in an accident in 1955, and his brother Burchard Isaacs (born around 1927), who married Eve GrandPre, are the parents of the James Lee Isaacs who was also killed in that accident.
