Obituary of Bruce Champion;
Died on Christmas DayRobert Bruce Champion was born Aug. 24, 1884, in Osage, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Champion.
At an early age he showed a keen interest and ability in mechanics and was conceded the place as Osage's first automobile mechanic. He worked at various places, then established his own garage which he operated for many years. Later he worked in the Chevrolet establishment. Recently he and his son, Robert have operated a paint and body shop in the Ford garage building.
He married Miss Eva Smith and to this union were born three children; Mrs. William Rogers, jr., Robert and Lorraine at home.
Besides his immediate family he is survived by three brothers; Clayton R. of Osage; Harold and Charles in Milwaukee; and three sisters, Mary, in New York city; Mrs. Katie Dalziel, of Minot, N.D., and Mrs Fonda of Osage.
Though never a religious man in the general acceptance of the term, his religion consisted of an honesty and integrity toward friends and employers, and a lifetime of unfailing devotion toward his family. He never cared for flowery words of unmerited praise, but what more can be said of any man than that according to the knowledge and ability given him he did the best he could.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at the Champion funeral home, conducted by Rev. F. A. Court, with interment in the Osage cemetery.
