Burial Services Held
For Mr. James McCarthy

Interment Takes Place
in Cemetery at New Haven

Funeral services for James McCarthy were held Friday morning at the Sacred Heart church. Burial was made in the cemetery at New Haven.

Mr. McCarthy was born March 28, 1843, in New York. At an early age he moved with his parents to Racine, Wis. In 1868, he was united in marriage to Jane Heaney of Milwaukee. Coming to Iowa, the new home was made on a farm in Douglas township, where they resided until the death of Mrs. McCarthy in 1911. For the past sixteen years he made his home in Osage with his daughter, Mrs. Mary Broderick.

Of the large family who came to bless the home, three sons and four daughters survive; Mrs. Mary Broderick of Osage, Mrs Frank Griffin of Owatonna, Minn., Mrs. J. J. Kane and Mabel of Dubuque, James McCarthy of Minot, N. D., William and Henry of New Haven. He was preceded in death by four sons and two daughters. He was a life long member of the Catholic church and died fortified by all the rites of his religion.
