DIED - In the twenty-second year of her age, in Douglas township, March 15, 1889, Florence A., only daughter of A.N. and Mollie A. Holbrook.

Through a year's illness with consumption she was never heard to complain and a groan never escaped her lips.

Choice hot-house flowers were sent in and a large concourse of people followed her to her last home in Riceville cemetery, the Rev. Barrett officiating.

Miss Florence Holbrook died last Friday night and her remains were followed by a large concourse of friends to Riceville, on Sunday, where a short but very impressive sermon was preached by Rev. Mr. Barrett of that place.

Her body was laid in its last resting place in the Riceville cemetery.

She had been a sufferer for about two years with that dread disease, consumption. The parents have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.

It is with sincere sorrow that we are called upon to announce the death of one of our talented correspondents, Florence A. Holbrook, who died at the home of her parents in Douglas township, this county, Friday, March 15, 1889, of that dread disease, consumption.

Miss Holbrook for many years has been a regular contributor to our columns under the non de plume of "Tam O'Shanter," and her versatile and trenchant pen has added much to interest our readers, not at New Haven alone, but in all sections of the county.

She was a brilliant writer, a young lady of many virtues and charms of character. Her death leaves a void in the social circle in which she moved, and her memory will be cherished by those who loved her so well.
