Our Brownville correspondent writes us that Mrs. Lottie Maxham died at Brownville on Monday, March 11, 1889, in her seventy-second year.

She was among the early settlers of this county and has resided there for many years.

She left surviving her an only son who lives in Douglas township, and three daughters, Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Mullholand, who reside at Saratoga, Howard county, and Mrs. E.A. Richardson of Burr Oak township.

She was a consistent and active member of the M.E. church and never failed to attend the services of the church, the bible class of Sunday-school for many years when her health would permit. She lived and died a christian and it is appropriate to quote in this connection, "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace."

~Mitchell Co. Press, Thursday, March 14, 1889; pg 5
