DIED. In Lincoln, July 9, 1879, Gertie, only daughter of Theodore and Libbie Andrews, aged eight months and sixteen days.

"And we have laid her form away,
Composed of earthly mold and dress,
To moulder back to mother clay;
We deeply feel our earthly loss.

Yet, with our inner eyes we see
Our Gertie's spirit robed in light,
And she is now forever free
From pain, from care and sorrow's blight.

And though our darling child is gone,
We know she dwells in bliss above;
Although her life had scarce begun,
She scattered wide her work of love.

And angels from the summer land
Will bring her to her parents dear,
And with her little baby hand
Wipe from their eyes the scalding tears."
