Death has claimed another of our old and much respected citizens. Charles Grimes, who passed away after a short illness on Sunday evening, June 22, 1879, in the 80th year of his age.

Mr. Grimes was born at Baltimore, Md., on the 8th of April, 1800, and came to Iowa in 1863, settling at Janesville, Bremer county. Several years ago he moved to Osage where he has continued to reside until his death.

He was a man very much respected by all his friends and neighbors, and leaves an untarnished reputation. The surviving members of his family have the sympathy of the community in their sorrow.
