OBITUARY MRS. P. A. GOLBERG
Mrs. Bergit Golberg, wife of P.A. Golberg was born on the farm Klepe, Aais Praetehjuld, Halingdahl, Norway, February 11, 1835, and died July 26, 1899, being, therefore, 64 years, 5 months and 15 days old.She came to America in 1853, going to Rock county, Wisconsin, where she lived three years. In 1855, she came to Mitchell county, Iowa. On the 8th of September of the same year, she was married to P.A. Golberg. They settled on a farm just north of St. Ansgar and resided there 34 years, when they moved into town where they have since resided.
Seven children were born to them of whom four have died. The living are: Olina, wife of Andrew Dalager, of Austin, Minnesota, Amos P. who resides here but who is at present in Colorado for his heath, and Christina, wife of Dr. A.N. Echburg of St. Ansgar. There are also seven grandchildren who survive her.
During the last years of her life ill health prevented her from mingling in the affairs of church and society but during the years before her health became so poor she was very active in all good works. Not only in the work of the church and the societies connected with it but innumerable homes were indebted to her kindly ministrations in the hour of sickness and all who knew her testify to her kindness and the goodness of heart.
The health of the deceased was rather poor for thirteen years before her death, and her last sickness covered a period of about two months.
There were present at her funeral from abroad her sister, Mrs. Iver Omen, and Mrs. Omen's daughter, Mrs. Ida Venstrom and two children of St. James, Minnesota; also her sister P.L. Leen of Red Oak Grove, MN.
