Joyce worked for Iowa Smokehouse and Creamery, then became Manager for University Book and Supply, and worked for Walmart for 10 years before retiring in 2016.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen; daughter, Jacki Lynn Brown; and a sister, Nancy Lee Nagle.

She is survived by her son, Brad (Stephanie) Brown of Cedar Falls; two granddaughters, Ashley (Joshua) Swanson of St. Paul, MN and Terri Packard of Waterloo; and two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Kylar.

Joyce and Stephen had a flock of peacocks at their farm and she cherished the many dogs she had through the years. She enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, flower gardening, farming and mowing their extensive lawn. Joyce’s passion was finding treasures and great bargains at Goodwill. She was sassy, funny and accident prone. Above all else, Joyce loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they are the legacy she leaves behind.
